no one does centennial like the devastating divas of delta sigma theta sorority, incorporated. oo-oop to all my sweet, sweet sorors!
delta sigma theta sorority, inc. has just completed our 51st national convention in the home city of our birth, washington, d.c. it was on the campus of howard university that 22 dynamic, couragous and illustrious women founded the greatest sorority in the world. 100 years later, we are still carrying the torch and walking out the vision of these collegiate women.
as i reflect on the past weekend, hanging out with 40,000 of my sorors, i am in awe of the greatness of my sisterhood. everywhere i went i heard, ‘hey soror” or “hi soror, how you doing?” i was made in the fabulous far west and seeing a sea of sorors in that beautiful crimson and creme; it just touched me deep on the inside. there are a lot of us in seattle, but we don’t see each other on a regular. dc was another reminder that we are part of something bigger than ourselves. i am so happy i was able to witness history as we did an encore to the take over that took place on january 13, 1913
so i’m taking a few minutes to look back over the weekend – the sisterhood, the history, the excitement, the charge to continue to the legacy, the friendships, the love, the lines and yes, the heat! it was amazing in ways i can’t describe but as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. so here are a few pictures from our awesome weekend! red alert!!! the deltas have made history in dc!!
