It’s Usher, baby!!! Ok, let me be serious for a second, or two. I kicked of my birthday week by taking a quick little girls trip down to Vegas to see none other than US-HER RA-YM-OND in the last leg of his Vegas Residency. My gawd. That man is still fine! lol. And this was the absolute perfect way to start my 45th year of life.
I am a lover of a lot of things. My birthday is probably top of the list. Let’s look at the obvious reasons. It is the day God blessed me to take my first breathe in this glorious world that God created. I consider life to be a gift and every year I am blessed to live, I give thanks. If you don’t celebrate anything else, you should always celebrate you. And celebrate is what I do. Each year. But I tend to do a little extra for those milestone years. This is a milestone year. I am 45! Halfway through my 40s. I can’t lie, some days I look at my life and wonder where they years have gone. Like, seriously. How did we get here? Thankfully, there are zero regrets and I truly love the life I created for myself. That is worth celebrating.
So, my sisterfriend and I ditched work and caught a flight from Seattle to Vegas on a week night to see the spectacle. My goodness, Usher put on a show. It was so worth the stress of navigating ticket master presales and spiked prices. He sang all my favorites, danced and skated across the stage like we were at a private party, and of course serenaded a few lucky fans. My only gripe is that we didn’t have a real celebrity in the audience for our show and that made me sad. Why? Because I enjoy watching celebs be normal people enjoying normal things that we all enjoy. Like, of course Gabby Union and Nia Long love Usher the same way we do. It’s Usher!
This was my second time seeing Usher in concert and all I can say is, he can still get it. lol. Can’t wait to see what he does for the superbowl! After the concert, we walked the casino floor for a bit and then grabbed a drink to cap off the night. Being able to make lasting memories with my favorite people is also one of my favorite things. I can’t express how much friends are a life hack. Get you some friends who love life as much as you do. It will change how you see the world around you.
Yep, this was a great way to kick off my 45th birthday. I am a blessed woman indeed.
